Dr. Andy Neillie
Leadership Author, Speaker, and Animal Rescue Advocate
“Pets don’t respond to titles; they respond to consistency. Turns out, people aren’t much different.”
Leadership expert Dr. Andy Neillie is a business owner, keynote speaker, author, educator, and coach with more than two decades of experience helping organizations develop stronger leaders and healthier workplace cultures. His work focuses on the personal side of leadership, showing leaders how trust, empathy, character, and consistent investment in people can create meaningful and lasting change.
Andy’s passion for leadership began after experiencing firsthand what poor leadership can do to a workplace. More than two decades ago, he worked for a leader who lacked empathy, direction, and integrity. The experience inspired him to understand why some leaders build trust and bring out the best in their teams while others create frustration and disconnection.
That question became an important part of Andy’s professional journey. As a leadership expert, he has spent years studying, practicing, and teaching the principles that help leaders create genuine relationships with the people they serve. His philosophy emphasizes that leadership is not simply about authority, strategy, or managing performance. Effective leadership requires patience, empathy, integrity, emotional connection, and a willingness to invest time in others.
As the owner of multiple businesses, including a successful retail operation, Andy brings extensive real-world experience to his leadership work. He understands the daily challenges of managing organizations, developing teams, navigating change, and building a workplace culture where people can perform at their best.
Andy also teaches leadership principles in Concordia University's MBA program. His doctoral research focused on the personal side of leadership and the qualities that allow leaders to develop stronger connections with their teams.
He is the author of The Golden Principles: Life and Leadership Lessons from a Rescued Dog, which was recognized by Amazon as one of its Top 100 Best Books of the Year. The book explores leadership lessons centered on patience, empathy, trust, consistency, and service.
Today, Andy works as a leadership expert through keynote speaking, coaching, consulting, writing, and education. He has worked with thousands of leaders and continues to help organizations move beyond simply managing people toward developing leaders who build trust, strengthen teams, and create positive workplace cultures. His message is simple: leadership is personal, and the strongest leaders understand that leadership is ultimately about the people they are called to serve.
