Jay Setchell
Author, Speaker, Resilience Advocate, Veteran
“"Sweat dries, blood clots, and broken bones heal. Suck it up." "To give up is to give in. I'm not going to do it."”
Jay Setchell is a Marine Corps veteran, entrepreneur, and advocate for resilience whose life has been shaped by extraordinary hardship and an unshakable will to keep moving forward. Having endured multiple deaths and near-death experiences, paralysis, and 73 surgeries, Jay has spent decades proving that setbacks don't have to be the end of the story.
Raised on a working farm, Jay learned early that nothing worthwhile comes free, it has to be earned. That work ethic carried him through the discipline of the Marine Corps, a career spanning entrepreneurial ventures and the corporate world, and a life marked by marriage, children, and deep faith. Through it all, he has held to one belief: everyone carries an inner strength, and success comes down to the choices people make and how they respond to failure.
Drawing strength from faith, family, military service, and an unwavering determination to keep moving forward, Jay shares a message of hope, personal responsibility, and resilience. His guiding philosophy is simple: "If it is to be, it is up to me" and "It's Always Too Soon to Quit."
