Ted Yang

Author & AI Performance Expert

“Stop talking about replacing people with AI and instead let's talk about empowering people with AI.”

Ted Yang explores how AI for peak performance can help experienced professionals extend their prime and continue performing at a high level. His perspective takes on a different meaning when experience becomes an advantage rather than something technology replaces.

Ted has spent decades working across engineering, finance, entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and higher education. He began his professional journey as an MIT engineer before building a career in finance that included executive experience at firms such as Bridgewater and Citadel. Along the way, he moved beyond established organizations to become an entrepreneur, founding more than twelve companies and nonprofits.

His career has also extended into higher education. As Connecticut’s Regent for Higher Education, Ted brought his broad professional experience into a role connected to education and leadership. Across these different chapters, he developed a perspective shaped by technical knowledge, financial decision-making, entrepreneurship, and years of navigating complex challenges.

That experience eventually led Ted to examine a question many professionals face as their careers progress: Do their best years have to be behind them?

In his book, Ageless Peak Performance, Ted challenges that assumption. His approach to AI for peak performance focuses on what technology can do when paired with the judgment and perspective people develop over decades. Rather than seeing artificial intelligence simply as a replacement for experienced professionals, Ted makes the case that it can help amplify the qualities they have spent years building.

Central to his message are judgment, pattern recognition, and hard-earned wisdom. These are strengths that develop through experience, and Ted believes AI can make them even more valuable when used effectively.

His perspective offers a timely way to think about longevity, technology, and professional growth. Instead of treating age and innovation as opposing forces, Ted brings them together. Through Ageless Peak Performance, he encourages experienced professionals to consider how emerging technology can support their next chapter rather than signal the end of their prime.
