Nicole Zwolinski

Poet & Author

“Rejection is monotonous. Acceptance is to be sung in the streets and infinitely echoed.”

Nicole Zwolinski is a writer, poet, model, actress, and mother whose creative work explores motherhood and identity through poetry, personal reflection, and lived experience. Her work examines how becoming a parent can reshape a person’s understanding of self, purpose, and belonging.

As a multidisciplinary creative, Nicole brings several perspectives to her exploration of motherhood and identity. Her work reflects on the ways life changes us, particularly during experiences that challenge familiar ideas about who we are. Rather than presenting motherhood as a single defining experience, she explores its joys, challenges, questions, and contradictions.

Nicole’s debut poetry collection, Motherhead, centers on the profound transformation that comes with becoming a parent. Through poetry, she considers what happens to identity when a new role becomes such a significant part of life. The collection examines questions of self, purpose, and belonging that can emerge alongside motherhood, creating space for experiences that are deeply personal yet widely relatable.

Her writing extends beyond Motherhead. Nicole’s work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies, allowing her poetry and perspective to reach readers across different literary spaces. Her creative work has also received recognition through the Central Avenue Poetry Prize.

Based in Northeast Florida, Nicole continues to express herself through multiple creative forms. Her experiences as a writer, poet, model, actress, and mother give her a distinctive lens through which to consider personal transformation and the evolving nature of identity.

At the heart of Nicole’s work is an interest in what happens when life changes us in ways we could not fully anticipate. Through her exploration of motherhood and identity poetry, she gives voice to the questions that can accompany becoming a parent while still trying to understand the person you are becoming. Her work offers an open and thoughtful look at modern motherhood, creativity, and the ongoing process of finding yourself through change.
